Weekly Announcements
(August 30, 2010)
This Week
September 5 (Sunday) - Meditation 10:15 to 10:45 am, downstairs
in CBS. UUCD’s Meditation area has been moved downstairs to offer more
privacy and a peaceful atmosphere to renew your spirit and find inner peace.

through the meditation. You can stop by anytime between 10:15 and 10:45 am.
September 5 (Sunday) - "Labor of Love" Most people do
not consider their work a "calling" but rather a means to an end. The
end is usually to satisfy basic needs with hopefully a bit of money left over
each week for discretionary expenses. The challenge is to find the spiritual
value and meaning in our jobs. Congregants will share how they have found this
path and how others might as well.

Water Celebration - some say Water Communion (September 12) -
Don’t forget your water! Every year most UU churches have an ingathering
service (a kick off to the new church year) and celebrate by each person pouring
a small vial of water (the old film canister used! to work well) into a bowl.
The water can from your kitchen tap or from a place(s) that means a lot to you
or from your travels. The point is that it is the collection of all our waters
are then stirred (and boiled!) together to make special water say for a naming
ceremony etc. If you have a small stone that you also want to bring for the
chalice please place that in the water bowl also.
Delmarva Pagan Pride Day (September 12th - 10am-5pm.) - Delmarva Pagan
Pride Day is an annual event in which Pagans are free to celebrate, express, and
share their beliefs with one another. The event is held in Downtown Dover at the
Legislative Mall. This year's events will include Pagan Arts and Crafts,
Drumming Circles, workshops, Pagan Vendors, books signings, food vendors, Tarot
Readings, children's activities, and guest speakers. The event is open to all,

One of the guest speakers scheduled this year is Selena Fox. Ms. Fox is a
very influential and respected pillar in the Pagan community. She is the founder
of the "Circle Craft" tradition of the Wiccan religion. Selena, along
with others, founded Circle Sanctuary in 1974, which is one of America's oldest
Pagan centers and Wiccan churches. She is also the founder and executive
director of the Lady Liberty League, a networking organization dedicated to
religious freedom for Wiccans, Neopagans, and other nature religion
